Physical Therapist

Dr. Jennifer Moehring-Schmidt, PT, DPT, OCS, earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology from Miami University (Oxford, OH) in 2005, also achieving a minor in Nutrition.  In 2008, Jen graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado.  She has worked in various clinics and settings, including outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, the military/VA hospital in Palo Alto, CA, skilled nursing facilities, and inpatient acute hospital settings.  Prior to moving back to the Greater Cincinnati area from Colorado, Jen worked in the world of outpatient orthopedics working with a wide range of individuals from skiers and cyclists to individuals requiring rehab for neurological injuries as well as stroke and cardiovascular complications.

In 2013 Jen became a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedics (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association.  She has a passion for manual therapy and believes in an active and hands-on approach.  She believes in addressing the source of the problem--rather than treating symptoms--for a quick and lasting recovery.  Jen is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling, seeing countless successful cases for soft tissue and muscular injuries with this treatment technique along with therapeutic exercise. She has been with Beyond Exercise for ~8 years.

Jen brings many years of experience as an athlete herself to the therapy table.  Jen's first love was running, competing in track and cross country in high school, and later developing into a collegiate triathlete for Miami University.  She had spent the majority of her post collegiate racing focusing on road cycling with most of that time spent on the road race, criterium, and stage race circuit while living in Colorado.  As a life-long endurance athlete, she brings her passion for health and wellness into the care of her patients.  Knowing the drive to train for peak performance, she is motivated to develop her clients to their fullest potential.  Jen now focuses this drive into distance running, where it all began. Jen has qualified for the Boston Marathon twice, and she enjoys helping to coach her son’s cross-country running team.

Outside of work and sports, Jen enjoys spending time with her husband, two adorable children (son, Charlie and daughter, Scarlett), and her beloved dogs.  She has a deep love for animals and believes in spending time as a family outdoors.
