Dr. Jessica Chavez-Kline, PT, DPT
Jessica holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine and has been licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio since 2015 and in the State of Florida since 2014. To her practice as a PT, she brings many years of experience teaching and practicing yoga, ballet, modern dance, pilates, and older adult fitness classes. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance from The Boston Conservatory. After achieving a long performance resume as a dance artist, she found a true passion in using the skills and techniques gained from a lifetime of movement training to help people enhance their life quality and reach their goals for improved health, function, performance, and wellbeing.
Her passion for practicing yoga started while self-healing from chronic pain and dance injuries, and continues to be a major source of inspiration for her. She has been teaching yoga since 2005 and has been registered with the Yoga Alliance since that time. She is now studying Medical Therapeutic Yoga, a method of using yoga in an evidence-based manner appropriate for healthcare settings, and is a candidate Professional Yoga Therapist.
As a Physical Therapist, Jessica has treated patients from the outpatient setting to the critical care unit and works to integrate a rich knowledge in movement arts and therapeutic movement to her clinical practice. She has a broad spectrum of interests and has taken continuing education focusing on vestibular disorders, stroke, manual therapy, and women’s health. In outpatient practice, she focuses on the use of yoga as a therapeutic tool and on the use of the biopsychosocial model to inform holistic patient care.
