My name is Pat Johnson. Currently, I am completing my third and final year of UC’s Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate program here in Cincinnati. Before this, I graduated with a BS in Biology from Penn State Behrend in Erie, PA where I also played soccer collegiately. I am still relatively new to the sport of running, which has helped me to stay mentally & physically disciplined after ending my career with soccer nearly 3 years ago.  I am very excited and proud to be part of the High Performance team at Beyond Exercise. I can’t wait to see how Eric Oliver and his expert coaches, trainers, therapists and other specialists can help me and the rest of the team achieve inspiring levels of success. More importantly, I hope that our performance, and the services that back us, encourage others to buy into the ‘BE’ way

What's your favorite pre-race meal?

Morning of: Coffee & toast with peanut butter and a banana.

Night before: Steak and a brownie!

What's your favorite non-running or triathlon activity? 

Soccer. I played collegiately at Penn State Behrend (D3) in Erie, PA. I love getting touches on the ball in my free time or finding a pick-up game at UC.

What's your preferred recovery activity?


What motivated you to get involved in your sport and what keeps you motivated to keep participating?

After finishing my career with soccer, I decided that I needed something in my life that was goal-oriented and capable of keeping me disciplined mentally & physically. Long distance running was the obvious choice. Being part of the BE team has been a huge motivator.
